This pith helmet style is reminiscent of a classic fireman's helmet. The helmet was named after M/Gen. Sir Garnet Wolseley, who developed the original pattern. We have seen many variations on the name...Wolsey, Wolesley, etc., but the correct spelling is Wolseley. Through the years there have been many minor variations to this style. Our model has a tail approximately 3 3/4 inches. Sweatband and chin strap are genuine leather. There is a green underbrim. Color: White(as per the original) and khaki. Size: Adjustable by means of Velcro at the end of the sweatband. The big-head version of this style does not run as large as the big-head versions of the other pith helmets. This hat will fit up to about size 7 3/4.
