This hat is our creation and has evolved over time. Being direct importers of hand made pith helmets (we are PITHHELMETS.COM), we've developed a smaller profile pith helmet that has certain features that outdoor enthusiasts will appreciate: 1. The hat is made of the same light-weight, low-density wood as other genuine pith helmets. 2. The squared crown and smaller brim are features that lend themselves to a look that is less of a novelty than a full size pith helmet. 3. The hat can be immersed in water. The water is absorbed into the pith material and as it evaporates, keeps one cool on hot days. 4. The helmet is hard and provides some protection, for example stray golf balls. Under the brim, note a cotton fabric with a golf motif. Color: Khaki. Size: Adjsutable by means of a velcro ending on the interior sweatband.
