Each hat is made of top quality Satin, whose sheen is similar to that of its extinct predecessor (the Beaver Fur Felt Top Hat, available only as antiques). The crown in 5" high and has a distinct hollow sound when thumped with the fingertips. Thr brim is 2" wide and finished with a matching Grosgrain ribbon binding, the hat trim is also made of a Grosgrain ribbon to match the color of the hat. The metal skeleton collapses and the hat can be stored within a 2" high space, pretty convenient if you're traveling with a limited amount of luggage. Fred Astaire wore this top hat in the movie aptly titled, "Top Hat", where he utilized the hat's "POP" sound and motion when released from its compact position into his choreography.
